Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (PAT)
Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy is an innovative approach in which psychedelic substances are administered in a safe, controlled environment for deep psychological healing. Trained therapists guide individuals through a 3-phase process including preparation and integration, enabling the exploration and resolution of emotional and psychological issues. PAT shows promise in treating mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders, often with remarkable results.
My exploration into the field of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) was motivated by my own journey of healing and transformation with psychedelic medicines. Since 2021, my clinical practice has focused on providing support and information to individuals who are seeking healing with PAT. I have had the great privilege to learn from many teachers and mentors, from both western and non-western traditions.
My clinical experience with PAT includes:
- Lead Therapist on clinical trials for Psilocybin and Treatment Resistant Depression and Alcohol Use Disorder
- Graduate Program Course Instructor (Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy, Addictions Counselling)
- Clinical Supervisor to practitioners of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy
- Founder of Pathkeepers, a professional Community of Practice for PAT practitioners
- Clinical Consultant to private organizations providing Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy
My formal training in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy includes:
- Vancouver Island University: Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy Graduate Certificate Program
- Roots to Thrive Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Experiential Intensive program
- Clairvoyant Therapeutics Psilocybin-Assisted Motivational Enhancement Therapy (PAMET) for Alcohol Use Disorder Research Therapist Training
- Compass Pathways: Lead Therapist Protocol Training for Clinical Trials – Treatment Resistant Depression (Tier III)
- TheraPsil: Fundamentals of Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy
Please note that Psychedelics are Controlled Substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act in Canada, and there are limited pathways for accessing PAT legally at this time. I do not encourage or facilitate access to controlled or prohibited drugs.
